President’s office: Tivat Summit brings major international visibility to Montenegro

Podgorica, (MINA) – The summit in Tivat positioned Montenegro at the center of European political discussions and generated one of the highest levels of international media visibility to the country in the recent years, the Office of the President of Montenegro announced.

It is stated that more than 400 domestic, regional and international media representatives were accredited to cover the Eu-Western Balkans Summit in Tivat.

“From Reuters and the Associated Press to the Guardian, Euronews and the Brussels Times, reports from Tivat were published over several days, while photos and videos from the Montenegrin coast went shared across media platforms”, said the President’s office.

They added that it is particularly significant that Montenegro featured in numerous international reports as the central topic on the next EU enlargement phase.

It is stated that before the Summit, Reuters published an extensive analysis on Montenegro as the most advanced EU candidate, while numerous media outlets marked Montenegro as the frontrunner of the enlargement process in the region.

According to the President’s office, Milatovic’s messages regarding the European future of Montenegro and the Western Balkans were conveyed through several foreign media.

“This further emphasizes Montenegro’s position as a leader of European integration process in the region”, the press release adds.

It is stated that, in addition to political messages, international media attention also generated significant promotion of Montenegro as a tourist destination.
