Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Union of Municipalities of Montenegro (ZOCG) has launched activities under the Local Reform Agenda Observatory Initiative (LORAI) project.

The project is a joint initiative of the European Union (EU) and the Council of Europe, aimed at strengthening the role of local authorities in the European integration process of the Western Balkan countries.

The total budget for the project’s first two years of implementation amounts to €2.22 million, of which €82,000 has been allocated for activities to be carried out in Montenegro by the Union of Municipalities.

“These funds will be used to conduct research, coordinate project activities, strengthen the capacities of local administrations, and enhance their participation in implementing reform agendas,” the press release said.

Project activities begin with the preparation of a study on the role of local administrations in implementing Montenegro's 2024–2027 Reform Agenda.
