Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – At the initiative of Minister of Energy and Mining Admir Sahmanovic, Elektroprivreda approved an extraordinary 50 percent discount on part of electricity bills for consumed active electrical energy for residents of Rozaje and surrounding region due to power supply interruptions.

The Ministry of Energy and Mining stated that the decision comes as a response to the difficulties faced by citizens in northern Montenegro, as well as an expression of responsibility and solidarity toward families that endured the consequences of electricity supply disruptions for days.

Sahmanovic said that citizens should not bear the burden of extraordinary circumstances and problems in the electricity network on their own.

“When citizens are left without electricity for almost three days, it is our duty to respond quickly, responsibly, and in solidarity,” he added. 

According to him, this is not only a matter of electricity bills, but also of the Government’s attitude toward its citizens. 

He welcomed EPCG’s decision, saying that it confirms the socially responsible approach of the national energy company toward citizens.
