Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – At the end of July, there were nearly 1.5 million mobile phone users in Montenegro, 6.68 percent more than in June.

According to a report published by the Montenegrin Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (EKIP), the mobile telephony penetration rate was at 242.1 percent in this period.

Compared with last year’s corresponding period, the number of users rose by 1.79 percent in July. The share of post-paid users was 56 percent, while the one of prepaid users was 44 percent of their total number. 

M:tel had a 42.69 percent share in the total number of mobile phone users, while Crnogorski Telekom and One had the respective market shares of 34.3 percent and 23.01 percent in this segment.

Of the total number of prepaid users, M:tel had 50.52 percent, followed by Crnogorski Telekom with 26.09 percent and One with 21.39 percent.

At the end of July, Crnogorski Telekom had 39.17 percent of the total number of postpaid users, followed by M:tel with 36.54 percent and One with 24.29 percent.
