Podgorica, (MINA) – The Civic Movement URA will not stand in the way of Montenegro’s progress towards the EU, said party leader, Dritan Abazovic, adding that the party leadership will take a final decision on supporting candidates for Constitutional Court judges in the second round of voting.
Speaking at a press conference, Abazovic said that the parties of the parliamentary majority had promised to unblock Montenegro’s EU path by electing Constitutional Court judges, members of the Prosecutorial Council and all other appointments that require a two-thirds or three-fifths majority.
“They do not have an agreement among themselves”, said Abazovic.
According to him, all decisions related to European path of Montenegro in the Parliament have been adopted only thanks to the votes of the opposition.
“Both the IBAR laws and the electoral reform, this half-hearted one that happened, and the election of Constitutional Court judges and the Supreme State Prosecutor – all that happened with the help of the opposition”, added Abazovic.
He said that the URA will not be an obstacle to Montenegro’s progress towards the EU and added that the party “would act responsibly on all matters related to this topic”.
“As far as we are concerned, when the second round of voting come onto the agenda, the party’s bodies will decide on our final position”, Abazovic said.
