Podgorica, (MINA) – The Constitutional Court has been completed with the election of two judges, marking an important step forward for the rule of law, legal security of citizens and Montenegro’s European integration, said President Jakov Milatovic.

The Parliament of Montenegro elected on Thursday Jelena Ruzicic and Predrag Krstonijevic as judges of the Constitutional Court, following their nomination by Milatovic, thus completing that institution.

Following the parliament session, Milatovic said that it was “a good day for Montenegro”.

“By electing the two missing judges, we have completed the Constitutional Court. That’s why we can say that this is a good day for the rule of law, the legal certainty of citizens and the European integration of our country”, said Milatovic.

He congratulated the Parliament of Montenegro and the MPs who supported the election of judges with waste majority and thereby, as he said, demonstrated responsibility towards one of the most important national issues.
