Podgorica, (MINA) – The draft Defense Strategy is giving the vision of its fundamental function- protection of independence and sovereignty of Montenegro and it directs development of the country’s defense system in long-term, said Minister Predrag Boskovic.
Montenegrin MPs have been discussing the Draft Defense Strategy, which Boskovic explained.
“This document is following the guidelines given in the National Security Strategy, and gives vision of fundamental defense function, protection of independence, sovereignty and national security of Montenegro with contribution of all institutions of the system”, Boskovic said.
This document, Boskovic noted, is a reflection of NATO strategic acting in which all strategic goals are defined, as well as missions and tasks of the Montenegrin Armed Forces, and the vision of its development.
The Strategy, he added, simultaneously represents the reflection of NATO strategic concept, as well as the reflection of others national, allied and international documents.
Jovan Vucurovic of DF believes that the government in Montenegro is a puppet of NATO, which is issuing orders to it.
“This document serves to mask the reality in Montenegro and to create an image that nothing can be done without NATO and that it is a guarantee of peace, which is a huge lie, and insults intelligence, since we have seen that it is a criminal organization”, said Vucurovic.
DF MP Strahinja Bulajic claims that the strategy is anachronous, i.e. outdated.
“I believe that everything written in the strategy can be put in only one sentence- Montenegro’s territory is being transformed into a military range for NATO operations towards Serbia and Russia, and that is the real intention and the goal of the strategy”, said he.
Social Democratic Party (SDP) MP Ranko Krivokapic said that there is no alternative to NATO and that Montenegro’s destiny is in the West. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
