Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Prime Minister Dusko Markovic has said that the Government would like to tap the available development potential in an efficient and sustainable way, primarily in the northern region, in order to improve the living standard for the citizens.
At a meeting with delegation of Austria’s Doppelmayr, led by Director of Doppelmayr Garaventa Group Michael Doppelmayr, he said that the Government invested significant funds in the overall infrastructure development, including the transport, energy and digital infrastructure, in order to create favourable conditions for business and job creation.
“The economy is growing at an average rate of 4.9 percent, and the number of working people has increased by over 17,000 in only two years,” said Markovic.
He underlined Montenegro’s strong commitment to developing ski resorts, giving the examples of the projects implemented in the municipalities of Kolasin, Bijelo Polje, Rozaje and Berane.
Markovic expressed satisfaction with previous cooperation with Doppelmayr and interest in long-term collaboration, saying that such renowned investors brought not only money and infrastructure but also knowhow and European business standards.
Doppelmayr said that the future of skiing was unquestionable, as well as the global trend to build ski resorts that could be used in the summer in order to completely tap their capacities.
