Krapovic: Montenegro continues to contribute to NATO security

 

Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro has made significant results in implementing the decisions adopted at last year’s NATO summit in The Hague, including allocation of more than two percent of its GDP to defense, Defense Minister Dragan Krapovic said at the meeting of the North Atlantic Council in Brussels.

 

Krapovic, according to the press release from the Ministry of Defense, said that the multiple challenges characterizing the current security environment, underscoring the necessity to preserve strong unity within the Alliance and full commitment to the implementation of NATO priorities.

 

He pointed out that Montenegro achieved significant results in terms of implementation of the decisions implemented at the last year’s Summit, with a special focus on the strategic framework for gradually increasing defense allocations, as well as the implementation of Capability Goals.

 

Krapovic pointed out that the meeting of NATO Ministers of Defense was an excellent opportunity to adopt documents that would create conditions to further to strengthen the Alliance’s deterrence and defense, ahead of the Summit in Ankara.

 

Krapovic also said that Montenegro continues to contribute to the NATO activities on the Eastern flank, as well as to projecting stability through active participation in international missions and operations.
