NSD to remain part of the ruling majority and government; ZBCG to be preserved

Podgorica, (MINA) - The New Serbian Democracy (NSD) should continue the initiated activities as part of the parliamentary majority and a stable government, in order to, among other things, prevent the return of the former regime, it was stated at the joint session of the NSD party bodies.

That party announced that all participants of the joint session agreed that the coalition For the Future of Montenegro (ZBCG) should be preserved.

“Today, our representatives from Pljevlja to Ulcinj, from Plav to Herceg Novi, met in Podgorica, with the aim of, amid today’s murky political waters, conveying the voice of the Serbian people and making decisions appropriate to current events and the challenges we are facing”, the press release said.

It is stated that all the session participants started from the fact that the Serbian people had fought bravely and courageously against totalitarian regimes for decades, as well as that after the removal of the Milo Djukanovic regime, they earned the right to participate in governing the country and that their representatives show that they can do it more successfully than those defeated in the elections.

“A clear, unequivocal and unique position was confirmed that the NSD should continue the initiated activities, within the framework of the parliamentary majority and a stable government of Montenegro, in order to, among other things, make the return of the former DPS regime impossible”, the press release states.

The press release further stated that the NSD’s long-standing unification policy was reaffirmed at the session, which had been reflected in the formation of the former Democratic Front, as well as the later For the Future of Montenegro coalition.

“Guided by the idea “protect your friends, be responsible and take care of the people”, the participants of the joint session expressed a unanimous opinion that the ZBCG coalition should be preserved”, the press release says.

The NSD also announced that the session authorized party leader Andrija Mandic to define a common approach to all issues close to the Serbian people, in fraternal communication with the president of the Democratic People’s Party, Milan Knezevic.

Mandic was also mandated to hold talks with Prime Minister Milojko Spajic and leaders of all parliamentary majority parties.
