Dukaj: VC confirms Montenegro incorporated significant part of recommendations into draft Law on the Government

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Venice Commission (VC) confirmed that a significant part of its recommendations had been incorporated into the Draft Law on the Government, said Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukaj, adding that he expects Parliament to adopt the legislation as soon as possible.

In a post on the X social network, Dukaj said that the arguments and positions regarding the latest opinion on the Draft Law on the Government were presented at the VC plenary session.

“It was encouraging that VC stated that a significant part of their recommendations was accepted and successfully incorporated into the Draft Law. This confirms the institutional commitment to improving the legislative framework in line with the highest European standards”, said Dukaj.

According to him, productive and constructive dialogue with international partners represents an important contribution to strengthening institutional stability, rule of law and democratic processes in Montenegro.

“We expect the Parliament of Montenegro to adopt the Law on the Government as soon as possible, which will provide our country  with a modern and comprehensive legal framework for the work of the Government for the first time in recent history”, said Dukaj.
