Podgorica, (MINA) - No member of the Armed Forces of Montenegro (VCG) will be deployed to Ukraine, or any war-affected area, the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) announced, adding that tragicomic spins and innuendos targeting this party are again being circulated.

On Wednesday, the Parliament of Montenegro adopted a decision to deploy Montenegrin soldiers as part of NATO’s Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU), whose command will be located in Wiesbaden, Germany.

NSD Spokesperson Mirko Milicic said that again various sources are spreading tragicomic spins and insinuations about the party.

He said that this time, as before, the same narrative is being promoted regarding the alleged deployment of Montenegrin soldiers to Ukraine.

“This is, of course, a notorious falsehood, because no member of the VCG is going to Ukraine or any war-affected area, nor will they set foot on the territory of Ukraine or Russia at all”, said Milicic.

He added that it is also clear that the NSD would never allow the two Montenegrin soldiers who will be stationed at the Wiesbaden base in Germany, 2,500 kilometers from the front, to be drawn into any conflict.
