Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The first official visit of Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic to Kazakhstan marks the beginning of a new chapter in relations between the two countries, particularly in advancing cooperation in the fields of investment, tourism, energy, and transport.
In the year marking the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Montenegro and Kazakhstan are directing their cooperation toward more concrete economic and development projects.
At the invitation of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Milatovic will pay an official visit to the country tomorrow and Saturday.
“This is the first official visit of a President of Montenegro to Kazakhstan, taking place in the year when the two countries celebrate 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations,” the President’s Office stated in a press release.
The visit marks an important step forward in strengthening bilateral cooperation and confirms the mutual willingness to translate existing political relations into closer economic, institutional, and development cooperation.
“Kazakhstan is the largest economy in Central Asia and an important partner of the European Union in the fields of energy and transport. In this context, Milatovic’s visit and the planned talks with Kazakh officials aim to better position Montenegro in Kazakhstan and enhance cooperation in investment, tourism, energy, and transport,” the press release reads.
Particular attention will be devoted to strengthening economic ties and attracting new investments. For this reason, a large business delegation led by the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro (PKCG) will accompany Milatovic to Kazakhstan.
Several bilateral agreements and memorandums of cooperation will be signed during the visit, including agreements between the chambers of commerce and national tourism organizations, as well as a memorandum of understanding with Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG). These agreements will further strengthen the institutional framework for developing concrete joint projects and initiatives.
“These documents mark an important step toward creating more favourable conditions for business cooperation, increasing trade exchange, and strengthening connections among the institutions, business communities, and citizens of Montenegro and Kazakhstan,” the press release reads.
The official visit to Kazakhstan is part of Milatovic’s active diplomatic agenda, aimed at strengthening Montenegro’s international position, opening new economic partnerships, and creating development opportunities for its citizens and economy.
