Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatovic, Ulcinj has the capacity to become one of the key drivers of sustainable development on the Montenegrin coast, particularly through recognizing the value of its natural resources, developing tourism, and strengthening the local economy.
“His landmarks, Long Beach, Ada Bojana, and the Old Town, are not only valuable tourism potential, but also an invaluable part of identity that must be carefully preserved and enhanced. These valuable resources are a shared asset belonging to all citizens of Montenegro and to future generations, which is why they must be managed responsibly and in the public interest,” Milatovic said in a congratulatory message marking Ulcinj Municipality Day.
He recalled that Ulcinj, as one of the oldest cities on the Adriatic, is recognized for its exceptional historical heritage, multicultural spirit, and unique blend of tradition and modern life.
Milatovic stated that Montenegro’s European path requires balanced development of all municipalities, and that Ulcinj, with its potential and specific characteristics, holds an important place in that process.
“It is therefore important to be aware that the success of European integration depends primarily on ourselves, as we determine the pace of reforms and the quality of the changes we implement. Montenegro must complete the work it has started in order to become part of the European family of states, which requires responsible action at all levels of government and strong commitment to a common goal,” Milatovic said.
He believes that it is therefore necessary to improve cooperation between local administration and the Government, based on partnership, mutual respect, and shared responsibility for the development and prosperity of citizens.
