Podgorica, (MINA) – EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos will attend the reception hosted by Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic to mark of Montenegro’s Statehood Day.

As announced by Milatovic’s office, the reception will be held on July 9 in Cetinje.

“Kos’s attendance has a special political and symbolic significance. In the year when Montenegro celebrates 20 years since the restoration of its independence, Statehood Day confirms the continuity of Montenegrin statehood, its libertarian tradition and the modern European orientation”, the press release says.

The press release adds that on July 9, Cetinje will be the place from which a clear message will be sent.

“Montenegro reaffirms its statehood through stability, reforms and determination to become the next EU member”, the press release adds.
