Krapovic: Montenegro remains committed to fulfilling its NATO obligations

Podgorica, (MINA) – According to Defence Minister Dragan Krapovic, Montenegro remains committed to fulfilling its obligations within the NATO Alliance.

The Ministry of Defence said in a press release that Krapovic is participating as part of Montenegro’s delegation at the NATO Summit in Ankara.

The Ministry added that the Montenegrin delegation is led by Prime Minister Milojko Spajic.

On the first day of the summit, a working dinner was organised for NATO defence ministers with defence ministers from Indo-Pacific partner countries – Australia, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea.

“The meeting in Ankara also provided an opportunity for defence ministers of NATO member states to confirm their readiness to continue maintaining partnerships and strengthening cooperation with Indo-Pacific countries,” the press release reads.

Krapovic said that Montenegro unequivocally remains committed to fulfilling its obligations within NATO in order to improve the collective defence system.

He said Montenegro would continue to steadily increase defence allocations and spending in the coming period, as well as modernise its national defence capabilities, in line with the NATO capability targets assigned to the country.
