Ibrahimovic: Montenegro remains committed to preserving the culture of remembrance

 

Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro remains committed to preserving the culture of remembrance, safeguarding the truth and supporting justice and reconciliation, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimovic.

 

He led the delegation of the Government of Montenegro at the commemoration marking the 31st anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.

 

The delegation included Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukaj, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue Naida Nisic, Minister of Social Care, Family Care and Demography Damir Gutic, Minister of Regional Investment Development and Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations Ernad Suljevic.

 

“The Montenegrin delegation, led by Minister Ibrahimovic, attended the commemoration at the Srebrenica Memorial Center, during which, on behalf of the Montenegrin delegation, Minister of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography Damir Gutic gave a speech”, the press release said.

 

According to the press release, following the commemoration the delegation laid flowers at the Memorial Stone in tribute to the victims of the genocide, before attending the religious part of the program.

 

Following the official program, Ibrahimovic met with the representatives of the Association of Mothers of Srebrenica at their headquarters.

 

“On that occasion, deep respect was once again expressed for the victims of the genocide, and Montenegro’s commitment to preserving the culture of remembrance, safeguarding the truth and supporting justice and reconciliation was reaffirmed”, the press release states.
