Fintech innovations should be developed in direct response to market needs

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at the FinTech Innovation Loop Montenegro roundtable that the development of fintech innovation in Montenegro requires stronger links between the startup community, the financial and business sectors, institutions, investors, and development partners in order to connect real market challenges with practical solutions.

Vice President of the Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) Nikola Vujovic said that digital technologies are rapidly transforming the way businesses operate, communicate, and deliver services, noting that fintech solutions are among the key drivers of innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness.

“It is particularly important for Montenegro to create an environment in which innovative ideas can be developed, tested, and applied in practice. Sustainable development is based on cooperation, knowledge exchange, and openness to new business models,” Vujovic said at the event organized by Digital Den with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Chamber of Commerce.

Digital Den stated that the goal of the event was to initiate a structured dialogue on concrete market needs and the ways startup solutions can contribute to improving financial and business processes through pilot projects, testing, and the development of new cooperation models.

The event brought together representatives of banks, insurance companies, technology firms, startups, institutions, and development organizations, including representatives of the Central Bank of Montenegro, the Development Bank, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the Innovation Fund, the Science and Technology Park, Adriatic Bank, Addiko Bank, Lovcen Bank, Hipotekarna Bank, Prva Banka, Ziraat Bank, and members of the startup community.
