Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) agreed at a recent meeting that diversifying tourism products is crucial for overcoming seasonality and ensuring sustainable development in the sector.
In this context, the Ministry highlighted its incentive measures, particularly strong support for rural households, which have grown fivefold in number since 2019, reflecting increasing tourist interest in this type of offering.
Director General at the Ministry of Tourism Olivera Blagojevic, together with department heads Goranka Lazovic and Ljiljana Vuksanovic, met with EBRD representatives Dimitro Bogov and Nevena Stevancevic.
“The meeting focused on potential forms of cooperation and partnership models, given that tourism is a key sector of Montenegro’s economy and a significant driver of economic growth,” the Ministry stated in a press release.
Particular attention was given to supporting vulnerable population groups, particularly in the northern region of Montenegro, with the aim of strengthening their role in the tourism sector.
