Chairman and several RTCG Council members found guilty of abuse of office
Podgorica, (MINA) – The chairman and several members of the Council of Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG), charged with abuse of office in association, have been found guilty by the Basic Court in Podgorica, the RTCG portal reports.
The decision was delivered by judge Dragana Lubarda, and the defendants were sentenced to a seven-month suspended prison sentence if they commit the same criminal offense within two years.
RTCG unofficially learns that the defense attorneys plan to appeal against the ruling.
According to the ruling, the defendants are found guilty of abusing their official positions.
During the previous hearing, the defense attorneys pointed out in their closing arguments that the indictment against the RTCG Council members was fabricated, insisting that the law was fully respected and that there was nothing controversial in the election of RTCG General Director Boris Raonic.
