Podgorica, (MINA) - Former Minister of Defense and Democratic Party of Socialists official Predrag Boskovic has been detained for up to 72 hours following a hearing at the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SPO), his lawyer Mihailo Volkov confirmed to Pobjeda daily.

Volkov said that Boskovic is charged with the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization. He added that Boskovic briefly presented his defense and denied the charges.

He is expected to appear before an investigating judge on Tuesday.

Boskovic was arrested by members of the Special Police Department (SPD) at the Podgorica airport, by the order of the SPO.

The SPO has not yet issued an official statement regarding this operation.
