Podgorica, (MINA) – The Government has approved amendments to several laws in order to align them with the Law on Same-Sex Life Partnership, enabling persons in such partnerships to exercise their legal rights.

It is stated that in order to align the legal framework with the Law on Same-Sex Life Partnerships, the Government adopted draft amendments to the Law on Personal Names, the Law on the Central Population Register, the Law on Montenegrin Citizenship, the Law on Family Registers and the Law on Residence.

“The proposed legal amendments enable persons in same-sex life partnerships to exercise the rights guaranteed by law, which is one of the obligations under the negotiation chapter 24 in Montenegro’s EU accession process”, the press release added.
