Podgroica, (MINA) – The Ministry of Internal Affairs has procured 23 new Skoda Karoq vehicles, manufactured last year, for the needs of the Police Administration and its border police sector.
The Police Administration stated in the press release that the aim of the procurement was to improve the operational capacities of the police, increase mobility and operational readiness, as well as further strengthen the technical and logistical equipment and modernize the border security system.
It added that this procurement creates better conditions for carrying out daily official duties, but also strengthening the overall capacities of the border police to respond to modern security challenges.
The press release emphasizes the importance of strengthening the capacities of the border police in the context of European integration and Montenegro’s future role as the next EU member.
“Montenegro, as part of the single European security system, will assume the role of guardian of the external EU border. In this sense, modern equipment, technical competence and compliance with European standards are key prerequisites for effective border management and strengthening of overall security”, said the police.
According to the press release, continuous investment in modernization of equipment and technical capacities is one of the key priorities of the Police Administration and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the process of meeting European standards in the area of border management.
