Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The United Reform Action (URA) said that the withdrawal of the South Korean company from the concession procedure for Montenegro’s airports confirms that the Government conducted the process without a clear plan or transparency, calling on the Special State Prosecutor’s Office to investigate all circumstances surrounding the concession procedure.

The Government of Montenegro has received an official letter from the consortium led by South Korean company Incheon International Airport Corporation, stating that the group is withdrawing from the concession procedure for Airports of Montenegro.

URA said in a press release that, after four months of uncertainty, the Government now has neither a concessionaire nor a plan for the future development of Airports of Montenegro.

The party recalled that it had warned from the outset that the procedure was being conducted without transparency and that, instead of advancing the development of the airports, it had resulted in months of deadlock.

“Four months have been lost to political calculations and improvisation, while Airports of Montenegro have been left without investment and deprived of valuable time that could have been used for modernization and the preparation of new investments. Today, it is clear that our warnings were justified,” the party stated.
