Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The President’s Public Relations Office said that Montenegro and Egypt are marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, and the presidential-level visit will be used to launch a new phase of practical cooperation.

Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic arrived in Cairo, beginning his official visit to Egypt, which will last until Tuesday.

Montenegro and Egypt are celebrating 20 years of diplomatic relations this year, and the presidential visit marks an important step forward and an opportunity to give the long-standing friendship between the two countries stronger political, economic and institutional substance.

“We have just landed in Cairo. Montenegro and Egypt are marking 20 years of diplomatic relations this year, and we want to use this visit to launch a new phase of practical cooperation," Milatovic said.

He noted that he was accompanied by Minister of Culture and Media Tamara Vujovic, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Nikola Camaj, and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, the Investment Agency, the Port Authority and the Port of Bar.

During the visit, Milatovic will meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and representatives of the Egyptian business community.

The talks will focus on strengthening political dialogue, as well as expanding trade and investment cooperation.
