Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Head of the European Alliance parliamentary group Boris Mugosa said that he expects the concession procedure for Podgorica and Tivat airports to be suspended as soon as possible, followed by a serious, responsible and expert discussion on the necessary improvements to the airports.
Earlier today, the Government announced that it had received an official letter from the consortium led by South Korean company Incheon International Airport Corporation, stating that the group was withdrawing from the concession procedure for Airports of Montenegro.
Mugosa posted on X that more than a year ago he had pointed out that the tender procedure had been discredited for numerous reasons, as it had lasted for more than six years and had been accompanied by many controversies, which was why it should be halted.
He added that the existing concession proposal contained economic and legal shortcomings.
“We have lost valuable time. Three months ago, the Government nevertheless proposed granting the concession, only for coalition partners to apparently begin political bargaining and blackmail afterwards, resulting in the proposed government decision on the concession not even reaching parliamentary procedure over the past three months,” Mugosa said.
