Podgorica, (MINA) – New U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro Judy Rising Reinke has said that she will lead her team at the U.S. Embassy to continue to support Montenegro in its efforts to join the European Union.
The U.S. Embassy published the new ambassador’s video message.
“Public service is a tradition in my family. My mother was a nurse and my grandfather, father, uncles and brother all served in the U.S. Army. I found my own path in the public service as a career diplomat and I’m proud to be the first woman nominated from the U.S. Commerce Department to serve as an ambassador,” Rising Reinke said.
She said that she is inspired that Montenegro has emerged as a regional leader for peace and stability in the Western Balkans.
“Your historic accession to NATO has solidified our friendship as allies and I pledge to lead my team at the U.S. Embassy in Podgorica to continue to support Montenegro as it pursues its goal of joining the European Union,” the Ambassador announced.
