Podgorica, (MINA) – The proposal of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation and the Ministry of Finance represents the foundation for further negotiations on amending the Branch Collective Agreement (GKU) for the education sector, the Steering Committee of the Education Trade Union of Montenegro (SPCG) announced.

As Vijesti daily reports, the ministries proposed, with the consent of the Trade Union, to make a decision by which the Government would define the allowances referred to in the Article 22 of the GKU.

SPCG Steering Committee chair, Oliver Jakovljevic, said that this body analyzed the proposal by the two ministries and viewed it as a foundation for further negotiations.

“We believe that there is still sufficient room to improve the status of educators through negotiations, both professionally and financially”, Jakovljevic stated in a press release.
