Podgorica, (MINA) – The Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) has filed an indictment against former Minister of Defense Predrag Boskovic and former officials in that ministry, S.F. and M.D., on suspicion of abuse of office between 2018 and 2020.

The SDT announced that the indictment against Boskovic, former state secretary in the Ministry of Defense S.F., and M.D., who served as the former head of the Service for Financial Operations, was submitted to the Special Department of the High Court in Podgorica.

“P.B. and S.F. are charged with acting contrary to the laws on non-governmental organizations and sports, which stipulate that the financing of NGOs and sports organizations is carried out through public tenders and procedures carried out by commissions established by the state administration body, based on fulfillment of certain criteria. Instead, they acted on written requests and even without requests, and made decisions allocating money to certain NGOs and sports organizations”, the press release says.

According to the prosecution, the defendants are suspected of obtaining financial benefits for certain NGOs and sports organizations, and causing damage to the budget of Montenegro in a total amount exceeding EUR 168,000.
