Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – An enhanced inspection campaign for the summer tourist season began today, with a focus on combating the informal economy and unregistered business activities, as well as inspecting registered businesses where elements of illegal operations have been identified.
Minister without Portfolio and Chairman of the Coordination Body for the Coordination and Monitoring of Inspection Oversight, Milutin Butorovic, said this year’s Action Plan for the Preparation and Monitoring of the Summer Tourist Season differs from those implemented in previous years.
“The main difference is that, in addition to the coastal municipalities, we have decided to include northern municipalities this year, such as Zabljak and Kolasin," Butorovic said at a press conference.
He explained that inspection activities coordinated from Zabljak will also cover Pljevlja, Pluzine and Savnik, while those coordinated from Kolasin will cover Bijelo Polje, Berane, Rozaje, Plav and Gusinje.
“The number of inspectors deployed per shift will be around 110,” Butorovic said, adding that the enhanced inspection campaign would run until 10 September.
Six inspection services will be regularly deployed in the field, conducting tax, market, tourism, sanitary, labour and food safety inspections.
