Montenegro and Albania strengthen partnership through joint energy projects

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Energy and Mining Admir Sahmanovic said that closer cooperation between Montenegro and Albania can further strengthen regional stability and help the two countries jointly build the region’s energy and economic future.

At a meeting with a delegation from the Albanian Parliament’s Committee on Human Rights and Public Information, led by Committee Chair Jorida Tabaku, Sahmanovic said that Montenegro and Albania are not only good neighbours but are also connected by history, culture, and shared European aspirations.

Welcoming the delegation, Sahmanovic said the two countries enjoy traditionally strong and friendly relations based on mutual trust, close ties between their peoples, and numerous cultural and historical similarities.

He added that there is significant scope for further expanding cooperation, particularly in areas of shared strategic interest.

Tabaku said that communication among officials of the two countries is excellent and described the visit as another step forward in strengthening bilateral relations.

She also highlighted Montenegro’s progress in the European Union accession process, noting that the experience of Montenegrin institutions could be valuable to Albania as it continues its own path toward EU membership.
