Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegrin MPs are expected to vote on the constitutional amendments on Monday, Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandic announced.
“At the Collegium session, I proposed that the first vote on constitutional amendments be held on Monday, and that proposal was supported by the parliamentary majority”, Mandic wrote on the X social network.
He said that he regretted that the opposition had taken a negative stance towards that proposal.
“But Montenegro really has no more time or space to risk its certain European future”, added Mandic.
He said that in the next two days, the public would have the opportunity to hear all the opposition’s arguments and demands addressed to the parliamentary majority, as well as their response.
“I believe in compromise and I hope that on Monday all 81 MPs will vote in favor of constitutional amendments and enable our country to become the next EU member”, Mandic concluded.
