Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Montenegro has received approximately €3.4 million in funding from the European Union under the sector budget support programme for public administration reform and public financial management.
“The payment of the first variable tranche is the result of successful coordination and joint efforts by the Ministries of Public Administration and Finance, the Human Resources Administration, and other relevant institutions in meeting the defined reform objectives and indicators,” the two ministries said in a joint press release.
The request for the disbursement was submitted in September last year, after which the Ministry of Public Administration provided the European Commission with additional documentation and the necessary clarifications.
“The approval of these funds confirms Montenegro’s progress in public administration reform, as well as the ability of its institutions to implement planned activities in a coordinated manner and deliver concrete results,” the press release reads.
According to the press release, it is particularly important that these funds are disbursed based on achieved reform results and constitute direct support to the state budget.
