Energy among the most important development priorities of the modern world

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Montenegro has made visible progress in the energy sector in a relatively short period, particularly in terms of reforms, improving the legislative framework, and creating conditions for new investments, German Ambassador Peter Felten said, welcoming the progress achieved.

During his farewell visit to the Ministry of Energy and Mining, Felten met with Minister of Energy and Mining Admir Sahmanovic to discuss current challenges and prospects for the energy sector.

They agreed that energy is today one of the most important development and geopolitical issues, both for Montenegro and for Europe and the world.

Sahmanovic thanked Felten for the strong and continuous support Germany has provided to Montenegro during his term of office, particularly in the process of European integration and the development of the energy sector.

He added that partnership and mutual trust had enabled significant reform advances to be achieved in the previous period.

Felten expressed the expectation that German companies would continue to make a significant contribution to the development of the energy sector, which is of strategic importance for Montenegro’s economy.
