URA to propose Housing for All bill again tomorrow

URA to propose Housing for All bill again tomorrow

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The United Reform Action (URA) will propose a bill on the state housing fund “Housing for All” to parliamentary procedure.

Member of Parliament and URA Vice President Milena Vukovic explained that this piece of legislation is intended to allow citizens to secure a “roof over their heads” at prices more than twice as favourable as current market rates, which continue to rise.

She added that passing the law would have multiple positive effects, as it would, among other things, ease pressure on the real estate market and contribute to lowering inflation, which directly affects citizens’ living standards.

“This is a realistic, sustainable, and socially fair model that allows mortgage payments to be lower than rent, providing people with security and long-term stability,” Vukovic stated.

She called on all parliamentary groups to support the proposed bill, saying that housing policy should not be a matter of party affiliation but a shared responsibility toward citizens.

“It’s time to show that the Parliament can act in the interest of the people. Housing must not be a privilege – it is a basic need and a right of every individual,” Vukovic concluded.
