SDT appeals verdict in Apartments case

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) has filed an appeal on Friday with the Court of Appeals against the decision of the Podgorica High Court, which acquitted all the defendants in the “Apartments” case, and suggested that the case be returned for retrial.

The SDT appealed the first-instance verdict delivered on May 16, by which acquitted the accused Predrag Boskovic, Budimir Segrt, Suad Numanovic, Sanja Vlahovic, Ivan Brajovic, Drazen Milickovic, Damir Sehovic, Dragica Sekulic, Osman Nurkovic, Suzana Pribilovic, Jelena Radonjic and Aleksandar Jovicevic.

The appeal stated that it was filed due to significant violations of the provisions of criminal procedure and incorrectly and incompletely established factual situation.

“It has been proposed that the second instance court annul the verdict of the first instance court and return the case fore retrial, ordering that a new main hearing before the first instance court be held before a completely different panel of judges”, the SDT stated in the press release.
