Podgorica, (MINA) – The Montenegrin Army (VCG) will participate in the traditional military parade on the occasion of the French national holiday on July 14 in Paris, it was decided today at the session of the Defense and Security Council.

According to the press release issued by the office of President Jakov Milatovic, the proposals on appointments, dismissals and promotions of VCG officers, as well as several reports on the state of the defense system and the work of the armed forces, were discussed and adopted.

The press release states that the Council considered and adopted the Report on the VCG activities for the past year, which presented the key indicators of the development of the defense system, operational capability, implemented activities and the overall functioning of the VCG during the reporting period.

“The Council decided that, at the invitation of France, the VCG will participate in the traditional military parade marking the French national holiday on July 14 in Paris, thus contributing to the celebration of this important date of a friendly country and reaffirming the commitment to strengthening partnership and allied relations”, the press release said.

It is added that the Council also considered and adopted the Report on deployment of VCG members in international forces, peacekeeping missions and other activities abroad for the past year.

According to the press release, the session was attended, apart from Milatovic, by Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandic, Prime Minister Milojko Spajic, Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Becic, Minister of Defense Dragan Krapovic and Chief of the General Staff Miodrag Vuksanovic.
