Podgorica, (MINA) – The Ministry of Public Administration (MJU) acts strictly in line with the Constitution and Montenegrin legislation, regardless of political pressures or attempts to instrumentalize institutions, said this Ministry.
Responding to the concerns about the supervision carried out in the Municipality of Budva, the Ministry stated that it conducts supervision in all municipalities, not selectively, as part of its official duty and on its own initiative.
According to the press release, the public will be informed about the outcome in a timely manner.
“MJU does not have a political agenda, its goal is to ensure legality, legal certainty and equal treatment of all municipalities”, the press release says.
The Ministry also emphasized that it is not responsible for the work of the Municipal Election Commission or for decisions on the number of councilors.
“Decisions to appoint or dismiss deputy mayors are individual acts whose legality is assessed by the Administrative Court”, explained the Ministry of Public Administration.
They pointed out that, in that case, the ruling of the Administrative Court fully confirms the MJU’s conclusions.
