Milatovic initiates procedure on deciding in Vesna Bratic’s case

Podgorica, (MINA) – President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic has requested that the Ministry of Justice, in accordance with its legal authorities, consider the request for release from criminal prosecution of former minister Vesna Bratic and submit to him a reasoned proposal for decision-making.

According to the press release from the President’s office, Milatovic demanded urgent action by the Ministry of Justice in line with the law, regarding the appeal of Slavica Bratic, who requested that the President grant her sister release from the criminal prosecution.

Milatovic’s office explained that the pardon procedure clearly stipulates that it is initiated and led ex officio by the Ministry of Justice, which collects all relevant data from other authorities and evaluates the application.

They requested from the Ministry of Justice to without delay gather all the necessary data, thoroughly review the request and submit a reasoned proposal, so that Milatovic could perform his constitutional and legal decision-making function.
