Kaludjerovic: Traffic suspension continues

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Representative of Montenegro Railway Infrastructure Company (ZICG) workers Andrej Kaludjerovic said that the blockade of railway traffic continues, adding that management’s allegations that workers rejected the entire offer are not accurate.

“Our management rushed to make statements, even though the meeting minutes are not yet finalized. Their allegation that there were concessions is again incorrect,” Kaludjerovic told reporters after negotiations with management.

He explained that the workers did not reject everything; they conceded as much as they could, giving up some items and reducing certain coefficients.

“The representative unions say that no agreement was reached over minor details. Yet it is precisely this attitude of management that prevented an agreement, to the detriment of the company and shareholders, while ships are arriving at the port. And we are talking about only around four to five thousand per month,” Kaludjerovic said.

Earlier, management stated that the worker representatives who halted work on Friday had rejected the salary increase offered during today’s negotiations.

ZICG Executive Director Marina Boskovic said that workers were offered a salary increase of at least €300 each, but they turned it down.

“They rejected the offer and instead put forward new demands for a 25 percent increase in incentives, which is not in line with the law and therefore cannot be accepted,” Boskovic told reporters after the meeting.
