Investment in production capacity boosts competitiveness

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) that additional investment in production capacity will help strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic economy and create new development opportunities for businesses.
At a meeting held today, members of the SME and Entrepreneurs Committee and the Metallurgy and Metal Processing Industry Committee were presented with business support programmes prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development for this year.
Committee members were also introduced to the University of Montenegro's programme, Scholarships for the Best. Jobs with the Best, as well as an initiative to establish an Association of Accounting Firms.
Andjela Gajevic, Director General of the Directorate for Enhancing Economic Competitiveness at the Ministry of Economic Development, said this year’s programme is fully aligned with the Government'’ economic development policy, with a particular focus on strengthening competitiveness and resilience, as well as diversifying the economy.
According to her, the programme aims to reduce import dependence, increase the share of domestic production and modernize technological processes through investment in modern equipment.
