Podgorica, (MINA) – The new Law on Government introduces an important novelty, at least 40 percent of members of the Government to be women, said Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorcevic.

She wrote on the X social network that, after the quota for women on election tickets was raised to 40 percent last year, “Montenegro is not taking another tangible step forward towards genuine, rather than declarative gender equality”.

“I believe in a society in which women have equal opportunities to shape politics and hold the most responsible positions. I will continue to advocate for this, since European values are not just a requirement, but a choice for the Montenegro we want”, Gorcevic said.
