Continuous dialogue between businesses and local institutions necessary

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Secretary General of the Employers’ Union of Montenegro (UPCG), Suzana Radulovic, continuous dialogue between business representatives and local institutions is an important step towards improving the business environment in Montenegro.

She said that UPCG organized a meeting with representatives of relevant Capital City’s authorities in order to discuss specific problems faced by companies in procedures falling within the remit of utility services, as well as during inspection and supervision.

UPCG stated in a press release that business representatives highlighted numerous challenges they face in their operations, including lengthy administrative procedures, the absence of clear deadlines for issuing certain approvals, the obligation to repeat procedures and submit applications for facilities that have been operating at the same locations for years, as well as the need for more consistent and uniform application of regulations by the relevant authorities in the field.

Businesses believe that better coordination among local services is necessary, as well as more transparent and timely information on changes to local regulations and procedures, so that they have sufficient time to align their operations with new requirements.

They proposed establishing a more efficient system for notifying businesses of all relevant regulatory changes.
