Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) has been awarded the international Zero Waste Business certificate, confirming its commitment to sustainable resource management and the systematic reduction of waste through organizational processes and day-to-day operations.
The CBCG stated in a press release that, based on an independent external assessment of compliance with the required criteria, the certificate was awarded by Mission Zero Academy as part of Zero Waste Europe (ZWE), the leading European network in the field of zero waste practices.
The CBCG Governor Irena Radovic noted that this recognition confirms the CBCG’s consistent approach to sustainable business practices.
“This recognition confirms that the CBCG does not view sustainability as a standalone initiative, but as an integral part of its long-term development strategy. In addition to safeguarding financial stability, our responsibility is to contribute to building a responsible, resilient and environmentally sustainable society, in line with best European practices,” Radovic said.
The CBCG is the first European central bank and the first institution in Montenegro to receive the Zero Waste Business certificate under this programme, confirming its commitment to integrating sustainable development principles into its operations and institutional policies.
