Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget has approved an initiative by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) to hold an oversight hearing of the relevant ministers and the director of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund on the topic “The Impact of Rising Prices on the Living Standards of Pensioners in Montenegro.”

Member of Parliament Mihailo Andjusic of DPS said that the general increase in prices and the significant erosion of purchasing power and living standards have placed nearly 120,000 pensioners in a difficult position. 

“Particularly vulnerable are nearly 50,000 pensioners who receive the minimum pension,” Andjusic stated.

Invited to attend the oversight hearing are Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj, Minister of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography Damir Gutic, Minister of Finance Novica Vukovic, and Director of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund Vladimir Drobnjak.
