Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Claims being circulated regarding the Sveti Stefan case are not based on serious analysis, said President’s Advisor Olivera Vukajlovic, adding that they are an attempt to shift the narrative through political spin at a time when decisions with potentially multimillion-euro consequences are being made.
“In such an approach, key answers are missing, while the focus is redirected to secondary narratives and interpretations that do not contribute to understanding the essence of the problem.,” Vukajlovic said in a press release.
According to her, the public is offered constructs that relativize issues of public interest, instead of an argument-based discussion grounded in facts and documents.
She added that attempts to present the issue as a political debate are not accidental, as this is a way to avoid answering what truly matters and to divert public attention in the wrong direction.
“At a time when the state is negotiating a settlement in an international arbitration procedure, and the public does not have full insight into the details nor a clear answer as to whether continuing the dispute could bring a more favourable outcome for the state or additional losses, requesting additional legal analysis is the only responsible and necessary course of action,” Vukajlovic said.
According to her, the issue here is not who is politically right, but whether the state may be giving up a stronger legal position without fully explaining it to the public.
