ASP: EPCG refuses to provide Board’s decisions

ASP: EPCG refuses to provide Board’s decisions

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Elektroprivreda (EPCG) has refused to provide the decisions of its Board of Directors adopted in the first eight months of this year, following a request for free access to information submitted by the Social Justice Action (ASP).

“In the decision rejecting the request filed under the Law on Free Access to Information, EPCG stated that an authority may restrict access to information, or part of it, if it constitutes a business or tax secret,” ASP stated in a press release.

According to ASP, EPCG explained that the company had conducted a harm test on disclosing the requested information and determined that it contained commercially sensitive data, the disclosure of which could put EPCG at a disadvantage.

“The requested documentation constitutes a business secret and therefore must be protected from disclosure,” the energy company said.

ASP has appealed this decision to the Agency for Personal Data Protection and Free Access to Information, arguing that it is arbitrary and unsubstantiated.
