Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the NGO Social Justice Action (ASP), more than €22.5 million has been paid for the roadworks portion of the Tivat–Jaz boulevard reconstruction project by the end of February.
The NGO recalled that the construction of the boulevard was contracted at €54 million, excluding value-added tax (VAT). Of that amount, €9 million is funded by the Regional Water Supply Company, while the remainder is provided by the Transport Administration.
The contract was signed with the Chinese consortium Shandong, while Bemax was engaged as a subcontractor and is effectively carrying out the entire roadworks.
Through the company Indel, Bemax is also a subcontractor in the water supply construction segment.
ASP stated that the work on this section should have already been completed, while government representatives insist that everything must be finished before the beginning of the tourist season and have warned of penalties if this does not happen.
