Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA), Montenegro’s participation in the Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal holds multiple benefits for the country, with a key focus on continuing alignment with the highest international standards in aviation.
ICAO adopts standards and recommended practices that form the foundation of safe, secure, efficient, and environmentally sustainable air transport.
CAA stated in a press release that Montenegro’s delegation demonstrates the country’s commitment to ensuring that national regulations and practices are fully in line with international norms.
“Montenegro, like other member states, has the opportunity to strengthen its position in global aviation, as direct contacts with other countries and organizations enhance the visibility and credibility of our civil aviation system,” the agency stated.
Active participation in ICAO processes also provides access to training programmes, projects, and initiatives that build the professional capacities of national institutions.
Minister of Transport Maja Vukicevic said that Montenegro remains committed to modernizing its aviation sector and aligning it with international standards.
“This is also an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss ways to improve infrastructure, strengthen professional capacities, and ultimately contribute to Montenegro’s economic development,” Vukicevic said.
CAA Director Ivan Scekic noted that Montenegro’s active participation in the 42nd ICAO Assembly demonstrates a commitment to high safety and security standards in aviation, as well as a continuous drive to improve the sector.
“It is also important to reinforce our reputation as a reliable partner in international aviation,” Scekic added.
