Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Finance said that Montenegro recorded a deficit of €81.6 million, or 0.95 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), in the first two months, adding that the deficit is significantly lower than planned.
The Ministry stated that this is as much as €86.6 million better than the planned deficit of €168.3 million, sending a strong signal of stability and further strengthening the country’s fiscal position.
“Montenegro has seen a strong and encouraging start to the year, with concrete and measurable results confirming the stability of public finances and positive economic momentum,” the Ministry said in a press release.
Budget revenues reached € 354.6 million in the first two months, €19.5 million or 5.8 percent more than in the same period last year, and €21.5 million or 6.5 percent more than planned.
“This result clearly indicates more efficient collection, stronger tax discipline, and increased economic activity,” the Ministry said.
